Handgun Optics Training Program

Beginning with nomenclature, extensive hands-on training in the use of RME optics will train students to transition from traditional iron sights. This is a challenging program and through marksmanship, dynamic drills, students will improve their capabilities using an MRDS (Miniature Red Dot Sights) to accurately shoot a threat in daylight, low-light, from cover, and while moving.

Course Description

If you're new to RMR (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex) Optics, this course is for you.  We always say that you should be intimately familiar with your "natural point of aim" BEFORE attempting to run an optic.  Your natural point of aim is when you present your firearm to the target and instantly acquire your front and rear sight.  It should be second nature.  If you're not able to acquire both the front and rear sight on your firearm immediately upon presenting your firearm to the target, you're wasting your time installing an RMR optic because you'll never see the dot without fishing around for it.  You'll lose precious time being able to get shots on target, and time will cost you missed shots or even your life.

For this course, you're required to bring your firearms, holsters or duty rigs, your optics tools (screwdrivers and or hex keys), spare batteries, and at least 500 rounds of ammunition.  All students should also bring at least 500 rounds of ammunition, and a minimum of 3 magazines.

Gear not authorized for use are Auto Lock, Trigger Finger Release Style Holsters that require the trigger finger to deactivate/disable the retention mechanism, Shoulder Holsters, Cross Draw Holsters, or Ankle Holsters).
