Meet Erick Salgado. Erick grew up in an active, responsibility-first household where sports, academics, and hands-on hobbies were how we learned to challenge ourselves. He graduated from an all-boys Catholic high school (probably why he picked up a firearm, IYKYK - LOL), earned a degree in Business Administration (smarty pants), and competed in natural bodybuilding—taking 1st place in Men’s Physique (Ultra Tall) at the 2019 Muscle Beach International Classic. He later owned and operated eight fitness studios, where leadership and clear instruction were daily practice. This dude is fit and makes all the other men here look, uh, well, the total opposite of him.
Firearm safety started early for him: weekend afternoons with his granddad, shooting BB guns, bows and rifles in the backyard, and learning the importance of respect and safe handling from his collection. Today he's an NRA Basic Pistol Instructor who blends that early stewardship with formal training and experience. When not teaching, he's lifting heavy bars and chunks of steel over his head. He does it so much that his body has all these weird bumps and lumps on it.
Seriously though, Erick is one of our newest instructors and has already developed quite a following. If you want clear, patient instruction, rooted in personal responsibility, get into one of his classes. He might even show you a thing or two about body building.
