Riverside CCW Training is proud to offer a Pistol Red Dot Sight (RDS) Course. With continually emerging technology, red dot sights are the future of gun fighting, not only in law enforcement and military service, but very desirable to those who conceal carry. This course is presented by the individual that wrote the training curriculum for the Police Officer’s Standards of Training (POST) RDS Course, which is employed by every law enforcement agency in the State of California. It originates from his first-hand experience as a Law Enforcement Officer, a military combatant, and a Certified Firearms Instructor.
During our 8-hour course, we will discuss RDS sights available on the market, including information on durability and reliability, mounting options, maintenance and more. During the course, students will be instructed on how to prep, install, and zero the RDS. You will use the RDS to its capabilities, to include zeroing, malfunction clearing, sight picture, natural point of aim, follow-up, transitions, shooting with obstruction, holster consideration, use of back-up iron sights (BUIS), firearm manipulation with mounted optic, dealing with parallax, alternate aiming techniques, and more.
